How consent works
On your first visit we ask you to accept or reject analytics cookies through a banner, with two equally prominent buttons. No Google Analytics script is loaded before you click "Accept". If you decline, a flag is still set that explicitly disables Google Analytics data collection, even on later visits. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer, or by clearing this site's browsing data from your browser.
Technical cookies (always active)
Necessary for the site to work: they only store your choice on the cookie banner (fgm-consent) and don't require consent because they don't track browsing for marketing or profiling purposes.
Analytics cookies (with prior consent)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate form, how the site is used. They only activate after your explicit consent and remain active for 24 months from your last interaction, unless you withdraw consent sooner. Per Google's own documentation, Google Analytics 4 does not store the IP address: it is used transiently to estimate an approximate geographic location (city/region) and then discarded.
The Cloudflare proxy serving this site also collects aggregate statistics through Cloudflare Web Analytics: it's cookieless (sets no cookie at all) and doesn't require consent.
Cookie table
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|
| fgm-consent | Technical (localStorage) | Remembers the choice made on the cookie banner | Persistent (no automatic expiry; stays until manually cleared from the browser) |
| _ga | Analytics — Google (with prior consent) | Distinguishes users for Google Analytics 4 | 2 years |
| _ga_<measurement ID> | Analytics — Google (with prior consent) | Keeps the Google Analytics 4 session state | 2 years |
Managing cookies from your browser
In addition to the choice on this site, you can manage or delete cookies directly from your browser settings (usually under "Privacy" or "Cookies"); the exact steps vary by browser and are described in each browser's official documentation. To specifically opt out of Google Analytics across every site you visit, Google provides a browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
